Jessica’s Baby Shower – 2010

Jessica’s Baby Shower – March 2010

My brother’s wife had a sweet baby girl – and I threw her a beautiful  baby shower with one of her friends in Brentwood, Tennessee.

I designed the invitations using Adobe Illustrator.  Then bought creme envelopes from staples and addressed them in pink sharpie :)

We did mom’s favorite foods… fruits, veges and cheese!  Then I made me signature chicken salad.

The cake didn’t quite turn out how we wanted it, but nobody needed to know that!  Be sure to be very specific about the font you want used!

Then I made a yummy pink lemonade/champagne drink for those of us who were not expecting!  Water and regular pink lemonade were also available.

I was very lucky that Holly already had a really cute house, so it was very easy to work with!  I had painting a picture for the nursery, so we used that over the fireplace.  My mom refinished a rocking chair from her parent’s home, so that worked nicely as focal piece as well.  Then I framed a bunch of baby pictures of the mom and dad and placed them all around (I bought the frames at Target and then returned them after the party)!  We used pink votives and a “it’s a girl” paper sign I got at Michael’s.  Since the shower was right after Valentine’s Day, I found a punch of pink hershey’s kisses that we scattered around in candy dishes and put in cute boxes as party favors.

Here is an (almost) group shot.  We had 15 people there, which was a perfect number.  We played a sock game – which was awesome.  I purchased 40 pair of baby socks over several months when I saw them on sale.  Then we got in groups of 2 and had 30 seconds to match as many pairs as possible!  It is much harder than you think!  Then we opened gifts and had cake.
